The streets of Warwick came alive on December 11th with the magic of our very first Run Roulette: Christmas Edition. It was a night of laughter, adventure, and festive fun that brought runners of all abilities together for a unique and unforgettable experience. Here’s a look back at the event that combined the thrill of mystery with the joy of the holiday season.
The Concept
Run Roulette isn’t your average running event. Inspired by the infamous Berkeley Marathon, it’s a test of patience, direction, local knowledge, and speed—all wrapped up in a festive bow. Participants were given instructions through the TAP app to locate hidden checkpoints around Warwick, collecting Christmas-themed items as they went.
The Festive Vibes
We wanted to create more than just a run; we wanted to deliver a Christmas party like no other. The event kicked off at The Castle Inn, where participants arrived in high spirits, decked themselves out in their exclusive TAP x Run Roulette T-shirts and Santa hats. After a warm welcome and a pre-run briefing, the starting bell rang at 7:15 PM, and the adventure began.
Checkpoints That Sparked Joy
Each checkpoint was designed to challenge and entertain. From solving festive riddles to singing collection inflatable baubles and Candy canes, the tasks brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Runners not only tested their endurance but also their creativity and teamwork.
The After-Party
The event concluded back at The Castle Inn where participants celebrated their achievements with a well-earned finisher’s drink. The atmosphere was electric, with Jake Byrne closing the evening with some fantastic music.
Why Sustainability Matters to Us
One of the core values of Run Roulette is sustainability. Every participant’s T-shirt serves as a keepsake and a discount pass for future events. By encouraging runners to reuse their shirts, we aim to reduce waste and promote a more environmentally friendly approach to event planning.
